Food Snob

So I have been thinking a lot about the holidays and how to deal with the comfort foods and temptation. I know that for some having nothing but non Paleo foods can be difficult to sift through, it's hard to know what to eat and what's safe. If you have changed the way you eat you might not want to eat the foods you once did. Some might worry about how they will feel after eating a meal full of gluten and wheat and dairy, or how added sugar will  affect you. Don't worry about making the host feel bad, it's your body and you care what  goes into it. Just make sure you don't offend the host, he/she probably spent a lot of time and money preparing for the party. Here are my tips on how NOT to be a food snob.

Tip 1: ASK
If your close to the host of the dinner party ask what is going to be served and how they are going to prepare  the foods. There is nothing wrong with asking how they are going to prepare there vegetables and once you know that then you can decide what to do from there.

Tip 2: BRING Something
I never go to a party empty handed, whether you bring  a bottle of wine or a dish just bring something. If you know the food is going to be very much NOT PALEO you can bring your own dish and just tell the host that they must taste this famous family dish. If you don't mind indulging a little you can always bring a Paleo dessert with you. Something that is less calorie filled or just knowing that you have something sugar free is always  good option.

Tip 3: Eat Before You Go
If you know that the food is not perfectly Paleo load up on the protein and have a good meal before the party. You can enjoy a few bites of food, but you will feel full and satisfied and be less likely able to over eat.

Tip 4: Host the Party
The best way to control the menu is to be the Host of the party. So if you want a perfectly Paleo party then hold one yourself.

If your having a hard time with the holiday season, if you can't avoid the unhealthy foods just remember these few easy tips...
- If you eat NON Paleo for Dinner eat Paleo for Breakfast and Lunch and Dessert
-If you eat Dessert then Pass on the Alcohol
-Want to sip some Spiked Cider or indulge in a glass of wine or two, skip the dessert.
-Pour out a glass of wine and then pour out half. Trick yourself into thinking your going to have two glasses of wine.
-Drink twice as much water for every alcoholic drink you have. ex. One glass of wine, Two glasses of Water.
