Fat People Not Allowed

It's stories like this that make me so ANGRY...

First of all this Photo is gross on so many levels. This model is way too thin.

Someone get this girl a Burger or Two...
I could care less about the side boob, but the PR in this Ad makes me mad. If your trying to sell clothes than show a model in the clothes. Also this model is way too thin you can see all of her ribs. She is not of a healthy weight and is sending a terrible message to the girls and young women that would wear these clothes.

If you read this article you can see that the CEO is all about exclusivity. I understand wanting to find a niche and stick with that but this kind of exclusivity promotes the wrong image in today's society. Bullying is such an important issue that we are trying to tackle each day and this CEO is basically acting like a big bully. The CEO said this and this really bothers me,

" In every school there are the cool and popular kids, and then there are the not-so-cool kids. Candidly, we go after the cool kids. We go after the attractive all-American kid with a great attitude and a lot of friends. A lot of people don't belong [in our clothes], and they can't belong. Are we exclusionary? Absolutely. Those companies that are in trouble are trying to target everybody: young, old, fat, skinny. But then you become totally vanilla. You don’t alienate anybody, but you don’t excite anybody, either."

I as a young adult can see the message and look at this as a one-off I don't shop there, I refuse to shop there and I just laugh at the childish nature of this CEO. However the young kids in middle school and High school can't see this. They see a girl in school wearing the Abercrombie and Fitch logo and they want to wear it and if they don't fit, they might go to extreme measures and develop un-healthy relationships with food.

This is a completely ridiculous stand and the CEO should be completely ashamed of himself. I hope that if he has daughters or nieces that he looks at each of them and looks beyond there physical size. Children deal with weight issues much harder than other adults. I hope that sales in Abercrombie reflect the in there poor business model. Completely TERRIBLE.
