Up All Night

Mike worked hard last night so it was up to the pup to keep me safe and warm and he did a great job of this...

This was taken literally first thing when we woke up and realized it was just us in the bed... (and the little one said..) The two of us managed to take up the entire middle section of the bed. Yeah no room for Mikey anyways...

Mike had some work to do and volunteered to help a co-worker and when a few hours at night turned into the whole night I decided to make a run to DD...

I got up and cooked Two Fried eggs in Kerrygold butter, with a side of fresh cut Sweet Potato Hashbrowns for my breakfast.

Forgot to snap a pic so heres a throwback...

Then I rushed out the the door to grab a couple coffees and donuts and muffins for the midnight crew at Mikes work.

This week I have been super duper busy at work and tonight I have a ton of errands to run, so off I go! Catch ya later!!!

My Favorite Hollywood Couple

I woke up this morning and while I had my breakfast I was watching the news and I heard all about Angelina's OP ED piece in the New York Times...

This really touched me I love when smart and empowered woman make a choice for the better. You read and all about miserable famous couples and this is so touching. If you haven't read her OP ED piece then you definitely need to read this.

Monday Eats:

This morning for breakfast I made a yummy Egg Broccoli and Cheese Omelette and had some coffee with it. For Lunch I had some eggplant and Caesar Salad with a Large Seltzer Water.

For Dinner I made this Wonderful meal :)
I Made Pan "Fried" Zuchinni with Sausage and Rao's Italian Sauce
And this was my dinner. Filling and yummy and I have some leftover for lunch :) Yum

I am determined to fine tune my diet and my workout plan. Dan made me a workout plan and So I will get started on that and get back to being FIT!!

Mrs. Clean

So this morning as I was in the shower I got an itch to scrub the grout in my shower... So after I got out I grabbed the Tilex and got to work spraying down the grout and shower walls. I am kind of a fanatic when it comes to clean showers and bath tubs. So anywho, while I am crazy about it cleaning the shower is my least favorite job. I hate using bleach and I almost always get it on my clothes. Most of the time when I wipe down the counters in my kitchen its just a mixture of soap and water. Or I buy the least harmful and smelly kind. Since Mike and I are buying our for-right-now-house, I am thinking I need to kick my bleach habit.

Lets just say that coffee and Bleach and various candled scents to cover and eliminate that TOXIC smell is not something you long to wake up too.. I'm sure my room mates were not a fan, sorry guys. My plan was to get it done first thing in the morning so it would have all day to air out.

I am looking for a better way and better solution to use that is safe on me and my family and doesn't make Mike run for the gas masks. I use this stuff because it works, and the smelly scented ones don't. Anyone have any ideas?

This Made My Day!

So I was angered yesterday reading about the CEO from Abercrombie and Fitch and I saw this Blog Post and it completely made my day Check It Out!!!

"From Amy Taylor

Dear Mr. Jeffries,
Hi there. It’s me, Amy. We’ve never met, but since it seems we won’t be sitting at the same lunch table (or crossing paths in your stores) anytime soon, I thought it was important that you get to know me if you’re going to hate me. I’m one of the two out of three Americans you can’t stand and don’t want in your stores. I’m your neighbor. Your doctor. The young woman working behind the hotel check-in desk. I’m your child’s third grade teacher. Your sister’s best friend. I’m the veterinarian who saved your dog’s life…twice. And the lady sitting next to you on the flight to Los Angeles. I’m the CEO of a Fortune 500 company. I’m the housewife with one heck of an expendable income. I’m the 13-year-old teetering on the verge of an eating disorder. And the 22-year-old battling depression and low self-esteem. I’m the employee working in your office, living in fear that two pounds are the difference between my paycheck and the unemployment line. I’m the American Woman…and I’ve got something to say to you.
Mike (can I call you Mike?), I’m not only a fat chick, I’m also a “not-so-cool” kid. Always have been, always will be. I’ve had 31.5 years to come to terms with that. Along the way I have been bullied, tortured, teased and harassed. Somehow I came out the other end better for it. In case you haven’t noticed, those not-so-cool kids are the ones who are passing people like you by–and doing some pretty amazing things. (You can read about a couple of them here and here and here.) Funny thing about wearing your struggle on the outside: it makes you stronger. It teaches you how to adapt. It forces you to dig deep and do more. And while people like you are sitting at the cool kids table intent on holding others down, the ragtag team of not-so-cool kids is busy pulling others up…and we’ve become an unstoppable force driving the world forward.
You got me, Mike! I don’t wear a size 4. You should probably also know that my middle fingers curve ever-so-slightly outward and I have a Morton’s toe. I’m terrible at long division and I’m not that great at parallel parking. But I’m a good person. I have an awesome job, great friends and a family that I wouldn’t trade for the world. I have mentors with brains as big as their giant hearts, and a rescue dog who is always happy to see me at the end of the day. Like everyone (size 4 or size 24), I have wants and hopes and dreams. I dream of writing a children’s book and inheriting a large sum of money so I can open a rescue retirement home for all the old shelter dogs that nobody wants. I’d like to pay for the person behind me at the toll booth sometime, and it’d be nice to get around to taking the “Great American Road Trip” one day. Overall I’m a pretty happy person. I’m a loyal friend and I strive to make the world better whenever and however I can. I love my community and I’m proud to call Columbus home. Although Abercrombie is headquartered here, you don’t represent the voice or the spirit of the place I know and love. When people think of this city, it is my hope they’ll choose to forget your name and instead think of people like Jeni Britton Bauer and Christian Long and Liz Lessner; doers and thinkers giving Columbus (and humankind) a good name.
As a marketer, I understand where you’re coming from on some level, Mike. I really do. When you say “a lot of people don’t belong in our clothes–they can’t belong,” I get it. For consumers, every purchase is a declaration. With each dollar a consumer spends, they are saying, “I am part of this brand and this brand is a part of me. I believe what this brand believes. I support what this brand supports.” As I sit here wrapping up this letter, I am proud to say that I may be a not-so-cool kid and the extra pounds I carry may not be a thing of beauty, but I am nothing like you or your brand–and that, Mr. Jeffries, is a beautiful thing.
Sincerely, Amy Taylor"

This was what I had for breakfast!! Three fried eggs, a little over hard and with some cheese on top. It was super yummy. IDK what my deal is but I am kinda obsessed with eggs at the moment, Hard Boiled, Fried, Over easy, Scrambled, Deviled... Ugh soo Good. I just had an omelet for lunch.

...And I might have a burger with a fried egg on top tonight for dinner. We will see..

How are things with you? How do you feel about the A+F CEO, Will you shop there ever again?

Fat People Not Allowed

It's stories like this that make me so ANGRY...

First of all this Photo is gross on so many levels. This model is way too thin.

Someone get this girl a Burger or Two...
I could care less about the side boob, but the PR in this Ad makes me mad. If your trying to sell clothes than show a model in the clothes. Also this model is way too thin you can see all of her ribs. She is not of a healthy weight and is sending a terrible message to the girls and young women that would wear these clothes.

If you read this article you can see that the CEO is all about exclusivity. I understand wanting to find a niche and stick with that but this kind of exclusivity promotes the wrong image in today's society. Bullying is such an important issue that we are trying to tackle each day and this CEO is basically acting like a big bully. The CEO said this and this really bothers me,

" In every school there are the cool and popular kids, and then there are the not-so-cool kids. Candidly, we go after the cool kids. We go after the attractive all-American kid with a great attitude and a lot of friends. A lot of people don't belong [in our clothes], and they can't belong. Are we exclusionary? Absolutely. Those companies that are in trouble are trying to target everybody: young, old, fat, skinny. But then you become totally vanilla. You don’t alienate anybody, but you don’t excite anybody, either."

I as a young adult can see the message and look at this as a one-off I don't shop there, I refuse to shop there and I just laugh at the childish nature of this CEO. However the young kids in middle school and High school can't see this. They see a girl in school wearing the Abercrombie and Fitch logo and they want to wear it and if they don't fit, they might go to extreme measures and develop un-healthy relationships with food.

This is a completely ridiculous stand and the CEO should be completely ashamed of himself. I hope that if he has daughters or nieces that he looks at each of them and looks beyond there physical size. Children deal with weight issues much harder than other adults. I hope that sales in Abercrombie reflect the in there poor business model. Completely TERRIBLE.

FYI they don't sell Mens Shirts are A&F OBVI...

Pssh. Dumb Advertisements!!!

Customer Service Makes a Difference

Since going Paleo I do most of my shopping at Whole Foods. Yes its expensive and yes it is tricky but I am able to get the foods I want and the quality of foods that I want. Want a break down of where I shop? Here goes...

I buy my bulk items like coffee and water at BJ's Yes I buy bottled water, but not just any water I buy seltzer. What can I say I love the bubbles and I haven't had a soda in years.

I buy most of my veggies and fruits here and sometimes lunch meat. Sometimes it's cheaper to buy some other items at stop and shop but I have to watch the sales.

Trader Joe's is where I buy my butter and beer and wine! Trader Joe's is great for some bulk items too.

I watch sales and buy whats on sale and where. It's kind of a pain but it ensures that I get the best deals and the stores are all in the same vicinity so it makes it easy to go from place to place and get the best deals.

I am working on getting into a better groove with my meals. I need to get better at meal planning and actually do it. I need to think better at what to make for dinner.
